How to Get Your JAMB Profile Code
Your JAMB Profile Code is a unique 10-digit number that identifies you on the JAMB platform. You need it to purchase a JAMB e-PIN. Below is a complete guide for both new and returning candidates.
For New Users (First-Time Candidates)
If you are registering for JAMB for the first time, you need to create a JAMB profile. Follow these steps carefully:
Register with NIMC & Obtain Your NIN
Before you can create a JAMB profile, you must have a valid National Identification Number (NIN). Visit any NIMC enrollment centre near you to register and collect your NIN slip if you haven't done so already.
Create Your Profile via SMS (USSD Method)
On your registered phone, open your messaging app and send an SMS in this format:
USER YOUR_NIN_NUMBERSend to 55019 or 66019
Example: USER 12345678901 — send this to 55019
Receive Your Profile Code
You will receive a reply SMS from 55019 containing your NIN confirmation and your unique JAMB Profile Code. Write this code down safely — you will need it to log in and to purchase your e-PIN.
Sign Up on the JAMB Portal
Visit efacility.jamb.gov.ng and click "Sign Up". Enter your NIN and click "Create Account". Once your account is created successfully, click OK to return to the login page.
First-Time Login
Username: Your Profile Code (the one you received from 55019 or 66019).
Password: Your NIN Number.
Mandatory Password Change
When you log in for the first time, the system will ask you to set a new private password. After this, you will use your Profile Code as username and your new private password for all future logins. You will no longer need your NIN as password.
Complete Your Exam Profile
After logging in, click "PROFILE" from the menu and select "Exam Profile Update". Fill out the required form carefully with your correct details, then submit.
For Returning Users (Old Candidates)
If you have registered with JAMB before and already have a Profile Code, follow these steps to log in:
Enter Your Username
Your Username is your Profile Code — the one you originally received from 55019 or 66019 when you first registered.
Enter Your Password
Your Password is the private password you previously set during your first login.
Update Your Exam Profile
Once logged in, click "PROFILE" from the menu and select "Exam Profile Update" to complete or update the required form, then submit.
Forgot Your Password?
If you no longer remember the password you set, don't worry. Follow these steps:
- Go to the JAMB portal login page and click "Forgot Password?"
- Enter your Profile Code and click "Send"
- A new password will be sent to your registered phone number
- Use the new password to log in, then change it to something you can remember
